Lane Patterson has 30 years experience and a deep background in telecommunications, internet networking & routing, SDN, optical & DWDM technology, and large scale global network & edge compute datacenter infrastructure.

Patterson led Yahoo! in global software driven infrastructure architecture and DevOps. Patterson was the CTO at Equinix, where he spent 14 years building the colocation network from pre-IPO into a global enabler of hyper scale infrastructure and disruptive internet economics. Patterson has designed and architected datacenter and network interconnection technology deployments globally across five continents including optical, internet exchange, fiber management, IP routing, campus interconnection, metro interconnection, subsea landing stations & backhaul, and emerging technologies.

Patterson helped Global Crossing build the first global Fiber and IP network across newly constructed terrestrial and subsea fiber routes and the build out of the network and DevOps automation for the first generation of Internet hosting data centers and services. Patterson designed and managed one of the largest first-generation Internet peering point on the globe, Metropolitan Fiber System’s MAE-East, just as the Internet experienced its first wave of massive commercial ISP growth. Patterson now work with InfraPrime as an Optimal Path Network Design Architect.
